A Bulgarian delegation of 25 young Bulgarian liberals visited the European parliament on September 12 and 13, 2007. They were invited by MEP Filiz Hyusmenova, member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, to get acquainted with the work of the European Parliament and the parliamentary group. In the Year of Equal Possibilities, as 2007 was declared by the European Committee, the Bulgarians had the chance to visit the largest democratic institution of the European Union.

The visit program included a presentation of Parliament, its functions and activities, a tour of the building, attending sessions of commissions on foreign affairs, environment, and regional development. Participants were able to meet with the President of the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE), Mr. Graham Watson, and discussed with him the challenges to present-day liberal policy at the “New Leaders, New Policy” seminar. The guests also visited the headquarters of the European Liberal-Democratic Party in Brussels.
